We were excited to find cupcakes at a bakery here in Montréal and brought home cupcakes with high hopes. After eating them, S offered his two word analysis of them:
"Not Swirlz."
I agreed with disappointment. We may be doomed to forever eagerly try cupcake after cupcake, only to conclude they don't live up to our Swirlz-derived cupcake expectations of What a Cupcake Should Taste Like.

I recognize those cupcakes! And they are totally from the crappiest of the Montreal cupcake bakeries. Cocoa Locale is only a few blocks away and a million time better!
ReplyDeleteExciting...I will have to try those! :) Thanks for the tip!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite ever ever ever cupcakes are from Blue Cupcake in LA, but as for a Montreal replacement the ones at Itsy-Bitsy do a fairly decent job, you should try them... They're on Notre-Dame, not too far from the Atwater market (and my office).
